Dr. Sara Untch

Sara Untch, BSc DVM, is a Veterinarian with a deep affinity for animals, nature, and science, which inspired her to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. She graduated from the University of Guelph with a Bio Science degree in 1993 and earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Ontario Veterinary College (OVC) in 1998. Sara (she/her) is passionate about generalization in veterinary care, where she manages medical problems, performs surgery, conducts radiographs and ultrasounds, and prescribes medications and diets to ensure optimal pet health.

She finds great fulfillment in collaborating with her medical team, patients, clients, and colleagues to solve complex problems, build relationships, and celebrate victories—especially watching puppies and kittens grow into confident, healthy family members. Sara also enjoys learning new techniques and finding innovative ways to serve pets and their owners. A fun fact about her is that she dances Latin styles (salsa, bachata, cha cha) and is working on completing the hikes of the Bruce Trail on the Niagara Escarpment. At home, Sara shares her life with two cats: Kat, a 5-year-old torti-tabby DSH with a spicy attitude who loves to knead and salivate to show affection, and Walter, a 14-year-old orange and white DSH who enjoys treats and head butts.
