Dr. Caroline von Waldburg, MSc., DVM, joined the Gateway Veterinary team after graduating from the Ontario Veterinary College with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2021. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Animal Biology (2016) and a Master of Science in Animal Behaviour and Welfare (2017), both from the University of Guelph.

A lifelong love of animals drew Caroline to veterinary medicine, and she is particularly passionate about behaviour, dentistry, surgery, ultrasound, and finding the right spectrum of care for each patient and family. She is Fear Free certified and dedicated to ensuring every pet has a calm, positive experience at the clinic.

What Caroline enjoys most about her work is the variety of cases she sees each day, collaborating closely with pet owners to provide the best possible care, and being part of a supportive team that puts pets (and their people) first.

Outside the hospital, Caroline loves singing, playing music, and performing in theatre. She is also an avid outdoors enthusiast – you’ll often find her hiking, cycling, or on the slopes downhill or cross-country skiing.

At home, she shares her life with Evie, a 9-year-old whippet who thinks she’s a lap dog, and Sgt. Pepper, a Kenyan sand boa with plenty of personality.

Caroline is thrilled to be part of the Gateway Veterinary team and looks forward to meeting you and your furry (or scaly!) family members!
